A spa pedicure is a procedure which cleans your skin intensely and removes the dead skin cells from feet and toenails. A monthly spa pedicure not only keeps your foot beautiful, it also prevents skin and nail disease. Unlike ordinary pedicure it is accompanied with foot massage which helps to rejuvenates tired skin and muscle of the skin and keeps skin healthy as well. In one word, a monthly pedicure is must for over all care of your foot.
But, people have a wrong notion that to obtain that spa pedicure you have to visit a salon. It is a very costly affair. But you can also do a spa pedicure at home if you know the procedure. Spa pedicure at home do not create pressure on your pocket at all. This article will give you a few tips to rejuvenate your tired feet.
1. Remove Old Nail Polish
The first step to do spa pedicure is to remove old nail polish or other nail works. Take a cotton ball. Pour a few drops of any good quality nail remover and rub it gently on your nails to remove the old nail polish.
2. Soak Feet In Hot Lemon Water
Take a bucket and pour enough hot water in it so that you can submerge your feet totally in it. Squeeze one lemon in it. Add some salt also in the water. Soak your feet in this water for 10-15 minutes. It will help to make your skin and cuticle soft.
3. Trim Your Nails
After removing your feet from hot water trim and shape your nails. With a file make the sharp edge of the nail soft. Then with the help of a filer push back the cuticle. Apply cuticle cream on your toe nails, wait for 5-6 minutes and then brush your nails with a stiff brush. This serves to remove dead cuticles from your nails and make your nails soft and smooth.
4. Use Pumice Stone And Mild Shampoo
Apply a few drops of any mild shampoo on your feet. Take a wet pumice stone and rub it gently on your feet to remove grease, dirt and dead skin. Give special attention on the corner of the nail. After that, wash your feet with ample water. Be assured that there is no extra lather on your feet.
5. Apply Foot Pack
Your feet need a foot pack to get removed from sun tan and other dark spots. Mix some yogurt, turmeric, lentil powder and orange juice in a container to a smooth paste. Apply that on your foot. Leave it for 20-25 minutes and then wash with plenty of water. Yogurt and orange juice is acidic and it helps to bleach the skin. Turmeric helps make your skin fair.
6. Oil Massage
A monthly oil massage is necessary in order to keep the skin of your feet soft and smooth. Take some castor oil and sesame oil in a container in an equal ratio. Make it slightly hot because skin absorbs hot well better than the normal oil. Wear a pair of socks immediately after oil massage. Wearing socks help to retain moisturizer. Leave it for at least an hour.
7. Apply A New Coat Of Nail Polish
At last, take a cotton ball and rub it gently on your nails to remove excess oil from the nails. Then apply a new coat of nail polish on your nails. Repeat the coat.
