Preserve Vegetable Peels
After peeling the vegetables preserve the peels. Thoroughly wash the peels to remove all traces of dirt and impurities. Select vegetable peels according to your specific requirements. Carrot, pumpkin and sweet potato peels are packed with beta-carotene that helps in stimulating sebum secretion and rejuvenates the skin. Cucumber peel is an excellent source of silica, which soothes and nourishes the skin, makes the skin smooth, and fights pimple breakouts. Tomato peel is loaded with antioxidants. Potato skin contains vitamin C, which helps in lightening the skin and improves collagen production. To make the vegetable peel facial you can either use a specific vegetable peel of your choice or combine different types of vegetable peels to treat multiple skin problems.
Grind The Peels
After washing the peels, gently pat them dry with a clean towel and spread them on a clean surface and allow them to air dry. Keep the peels away from direct sunlight as too much exposure to sunlight may destroy its nutrients. Put the dried vegetable peels in a blender and grind them until you get a course powder.
Mix Ground Peels With Other Ingredients
Take one tablespoon of the powdered vegetable peel and mix it with a tablespoon of natural yogurt and a tablespoon of honey. Gently rub your face in circular motions with the paste for a few minutes. Spread the vegetable peel paste evenly on your face and neck and relax for 20 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
Fresh Vegetable Peel Facial
Alternatively, instead of using dried vegetable peels you can use the fresh vegetable peels for skin treatment. Wash the vegetable peels, cut them into small pieces and put them in a blender. Add water or rose water and blend until you get a smooth paste. Add a tablespoon of gelatin powder and water or aloe vera gel in a pan. Stir the mixture on low heat until the gelatin dissolves. Add the vegetable peel paste to the gelatin and mix them well. Pour the mixture in bowl and keep it aside until it thickens.
With your finger spread the mixture on your face. Leave it on your face for 30 to 45 minutes. After the mask tightens, gently peel off the mask from your skin. Rinse your face with cool water.
