With the warm and humid summer months here, there’s really not much to do except moan when you step out. Liberally apply sunscreen or the Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50 on all exposed parts of your body. Choose a sunscreen with a protection rating of SPF 15-30 or more. The higher is the rating the more effective it is on your skin. If you indulge in a lot of water activities than apply the sunscreen before going in water and after you come out of water. You can even apply a waterproof sunscreen. Sunscreen should be applied at least half an hour before exposure to sun on the face, neck, hands, etc. This time is needed for the ingredients in the cream and the protective layer to be active. 4. Right Clothing
Wear long pants and full sleeved shirts when working outdoors. It may sound extreme but a thin cotton shirt will prevent that sunburn while bare hands face risk of direct exposure to sun. Tightly woven fabrics offers better protection than loosely woven against sun damages! In the same manner dark colors protects more than light ones. 5. Post Exposure Treatment
Make a paste of ground oatmeal with a little honey. Apply this over the affected sun burn areas. This paste immediately soothes the skin. Similarly, a mixture of lime and yogurt also proves effective for sun burns. Mix 3 spoons of yogurt with few drops of lime. Apply this paste over the sun burnt area, if possible all over the body. Leave it over for at least 20 minutes. Wash with cold water. This therapy is very useful in getting rid of day to day skin damages from the sun.
6. Stay Hydrated
And most importantly, you need to stay hydrated when out in the sun. So say yes to lots of water (not iced or you will catch a cold or get fever). Along with this, drink lots of buttermilk, fresh juices, coconut water, etc. every hour or so. This will help maintain the loss of glucose from the body because of sweating.
