DIY Face Sheet Masks At Home

1. Green Tea And Apple Cider Vinegar Sheet Mask

The antioxidants and polyphenols in green tea protect the skin from sun damage and also keep wrinkles and spots at bay while apple cider vinegar helps even out skin tone by reducing the appearance of blemishes. Besides it is also an excellent skin toner and helps in reducing the effects of ageing on skin.

Ingredients

1 tbsp Green Tea leaves
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp Apple Cider vinegar
4-5 drops Rosemary essential oil
3-4 paper towels cut into 2 inch squares

Method Of Application

Boil water and pour it over green tea leaves kept in a small bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes and strain the liquid into another bowl. Let it cool till it’s close to room temperature . To this concoction add apple cider vinegar and rosemary essential oil and stir well. Soak the pieces of tissue paper in the tea and vinegar mixture for a minute and lay them all over your face and neck avoiding your eyes and mouth. Let the mask stay for twenty minutes. Begin removing the mask by removing the tissue paper pieces one by one. Rinse your face with clean water and pat dry.

2. Rice Water Sheet Mask

Rice water has been used as a beauty staple by asian women since ages because of multiple skin friendly nutrients contained in it. Simply washing your face with this elixir is known to improve the appearance of your skin. It’s moisturizing, firming and equally effective in targeting blemishes and dark spots.

Ingredients

1/2 cup rice
1 cup water
3- 4 Paper Towels cut into 2 inch squares

Method Of Application

Soak the rice in water for 15 minutes. Stir the soaked rice in the water to help release their essence into the water. Strain the rice water into a separate bowl. Dip pieces of tissue paper in the rice water and begin laying them over your face and neck. Let the sheets dry for 20 minutes and then peel them off from your face. Rinse your face with warm water.

3. Honey And Glycerin Sheet Mask

This sheet mask is great for dry skin as honey and glycerin both are known to moisturize dry skin without irritating it and honey being an anti ageing ingredient minimizes the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes caused by sun exposure.

Ingredients

2 tsp Honey
1 tbsp Vegetable Glycerin
2 Tbsp Rose water
10-15 pieces of cotton or ply tissue

Method of Application

Stir honey into a bowl and whisk it lightly using a fork. Add glycerin and rose water and stir the mixture well with a spoon. Dip pieces of cotton or tissue paper into the mixture and place them all over your face leaving the eyes and your mouth. Leave the mask on for twenty minutes and remove it by carefully peeling each piece of cotton or paper. Wash your face with warm water to clean any traces of mask left on your face.

4. Aloe Vera And Clay Sheet Mask

This is a pore refining sheet mask meant for oily and acne prone skin. Aloe vera hydrates the skin without aggravating acne while clay helps in controlling excess sebum production and gives a problem free clear skin. We have also added tea tree oil which helps in controlling acne.

Ingredients

1 tbsp Aloe Vera Gel
1/4 tsp Powdered Bentonite Clay
2 tbsp rose water
3-4 drops of Tea Tree Oil
3-4 Paper towels

Method of Application

In a plastic bowl mix aloe vera gel, rose water and tea tree oil. Add clay powder and whip the mask with a fork until the clay powder gets completely dissolved. Rip paper towels into small pieces and dip them in the mask one by one. Place the soaked paper pieces over your face and neck. Wait for ten to fifteen minutes and start peeling the paper towel sheets off from your face one by one. Wash
your face with warm water and pat dry.

5. Coconut Water And Lemon Juice Sheet Mask

Coconut water is loaded with anti-oxidants and is helpful in restoring lost moisture in the skin. It also helps in lightening scars on the skin. Another ingredient we have used is lemon juice which is a natural bleaching agent and gives blemish free skin.

Ingredients

1/2 cup coconut water
1 tsp fresh Lemon juice
3-4 drops vegetable glycerin
3-4 paper towels

Method Of Application

In a bowl stir lemon juice with vegetable glycerin and whip the mixture with a fork . To this add coconut water and stir evenly with a spoon. Make square pieces by ripping the paper towels with your fingers. Dip the ripped paper pieces in the coconut water infusion and place them on your face and neck. Leave this mask on your face for 10 to twenty minutes and then remove. Wash your face with
clean water.
